Meanwhile, a middle-aged corporate executive experiences abdominal pain, unaware that he is suffering from an infection caused by ESBL E. coli. Additionally, a married couple starts to exhibit flu-like symptoms, only to learn they have contracted the plague. The husband’s condition deteriorates significantly, ultimately requiring the amputation of his calves.
