Sixty-year-old stonemason David Riemens is set to attend one last meeting regarding a construction job before heading from Tennessee to Michigan to see his family. However, when he fails to return home for his bags, and his truck is discovered abandoned in a nearby parking lot, friends quickly raise the alarm. In their urgent search for him, detectives attempt to track down the elusive construction site and delve into Riemens's unique off-the-grid lifestyle, yet every lead they pursue hits a dead end. The only solid fact they have is that Riemens has mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
