Following a devastating earthquake that shakes Newport, the community faces the challenge of staying united and maintaining hope. Sandy and Kristen find themselves trapped in a local mall, where Kristen suffers an unfortunate accident. Meanwhile, Julie and Kaitlin are stuck in a destroyed ice cream shop on the pier, accompanied by a despondent employee. Ryan is gravely injured, with a shard of glass embedded in his side, but he keeps this troubling information from Taylor to spare her anxiety. After discovering Ryan's predicament, Seth rushes to help him, while Summer and Taylor rummage through the wreckage of the Roberts' home in search of Summer's lost rabbit, culminating in a tense encounter between Taylor and her mother.
