After receiving a $2 ticket for jaywalking at a traffic light in Pixley, Kate refuses to pay, arguing that the light was active during a non-peak hour when she crossed. Determined to fight the charge, she takes her case to court, only to discover that many locals believe she is at fault. To strengthen her defense, Kate returns to Pixley, seeking anyone who can corroborate her claim about the traffic light's timing. Uncle Joe attempts to assist by bringing in a surprise witness, but things don't go as planned. Ultimately, Kate devises a clever way to demonstrate her innocence.
