At a fashion event at his store, Velvet, Alberto's father takes his own life, while Alberto and Ana are on their way out. As they drive away, the news of the tragedy breaks on the radio, causing Alberto to crash his car. This accident leads him to stay behind and take on his father's legacy. Meanwhile, his stepmother conceals a note that his father wrote specifically for Alberto.
