In their latest investigation, Jack and Sue pose as a married couple to uncover the motives behind Joseph and Betty's financial support of terrorist activities. During her encounter with Betty, Sue discovers her involvement with service dog charities, and they brainstorm potential questions that Joseph and Betty might pose. As Sue attempts to read Joseph's lips, Jack realizes he has developed feelings for her, while Levi also finds himself smitten. Meanwhile, Miles damages his car while tracking Joseph, who is using the identity of a deceased man from 1996. Myles uncovers a disturbing plot involving a Virginia College student planning to unleash the Bubonic Plague in Washington D.C.
