Following a fiery night with Wallace, Hayes grapples with the idea of exploring a relationship with him while also confronting the aftermath of her painful defeat in the Earl Slavitt death penalty case. Determined to make things right, she urges the CIU team to take a strong stance on Sophie Hausen's case. Sophie, a young woman sentenced to life for the murder of a well-known college basketball player, claims he raped her, and Hayes is resolute in seeking justice for her.
