Ash finds himself incarcerated, and Charlie, a detective, enlists journalist Max, who shares a cell with him, to keep an eye on Ash. However, Ash, youthful and attractive, soon becomes the target of Garvey, a prisoner backed by Golzine. After the attack, Ash is taken to the medical office, where he discovers that Max has been investigating the "Banana Fish" case, revealing a deeper connection to their circumstances.
