S01E02 Basilone

Basilone and the 7th Marines land on Guadalcanal to bolster Leckie and the 1st Marine Division as they strive to secure the vital airstrip. During a fierce nighttime assault, Basilone proves instrumental in driving back the Japanese forces, but he endures a devastating personal tragedy. After four grueling months of relentless combat and battling illness, the weary and sick soldiers of the 1st Marine Division are finally evacuated from the island.
