In present-day Egypt, Syria, Turkey, and Greece, some of the most remarkable Bronze Age civilizations flourished, including the Hittite Empire, the Mycenaeans, and the mighty Egyptian Empire. However, around 1200 BCE, these societies faced a catastrophic decline, leading to the collapse of the Bronze Age. What caused this downfall? Evidence from the region suggests that relentless waves of sea invaders, referred to as the Sea Peoples, attacked just as the Bronze Age was unraveling. Could they be the culprits behind this historical disaster?
