When the Enterprise encounters a space-dwelling alien that mistakenly believes the ship is its mother, Geordi La Forge is tasked with collaborating with the actual Leah Brahms, who comes aboard. Complications arise as Leah discovers that Geordi had previously developed a holographic representation of her to help avert a crisis, leading to heightened tensions between them.
