In Sunnydale, a mummy of an Incan princess is brought back to life, leading to a series of supernatural events. To sustain her existence, she begins draining the life energy from those around her. As the townspeople fall victim to her power, Buffy and her friends must uncover the mystery behind the ancient curse and find a way to stop the mummy before she wreaks further havoc. They face the challenge of battling an adversary who is not only deadly but also deeply tied to the past.
