Maria heads to court alongside Little, ready to face off against the father of her children as their custody battle remains unresolved and her teenagers are in foster care. Meanwhile, Laura and her daughter Lisa embark on a cross-country journey, determined to make the most of their time together after Laura's metastatic cancer diagnosis. In a different scene, Brad comes to terms with his impending death, but his devoted wife Verda, married to him for 49 years, is taken aback when he reveals his last wish, leaving her at a loss for words.
