In the opening episode of a two-part story, Starsky and Hutch head to the airport to pick up a fellow officer. However, shortly after their reunion, he falls seriously ill due to a deadly virus contracted from a passenger on his flight. The savvy detectives quickly dive into action to track down the source of the outbreak – a dangerous international assassin who is targeting a prominent syndicate leader. As the virus begins to spread throughout the city, time is running out for Starsky and Hutch to stop the impending crisis.
