In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Michael Portillo explores this vibrant city located along the Rio Grande River. Once the hub for the Acheson, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, Albuquerque offers a treasure trove for train enthusiasts, highlighted by a massive locomotive weighing over 450 tonnes, currently being restored by dedicated volunteers, and Michael pitches in to help. Later, he experiences the fiery flavors of New Mexico’s chili peppers at a local restaurant, where he also picks up the skills to whip up enchiladas. Michael then boards the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams, Arizona, embarking on a journey to witness one of the planet's most breathtaking landmarks.
