Yusei finds himself locked up in a detention center, where he crosses paths with an elderly inmate named Yanagi, who plays with a deck he affectionately dubs his "Hidden Treasure." Yanagi takes on a fellow prisoner, Bolt Tanner, and it quickly becomes clear that his dueling abilities leave much to be desired. Despite his lack of skill, Yanagi's deep attachment to his cards resonates with Yusei, who understands that bond all too well. Elsewhere, Goodwin studies footage of Jack's clash with Yusei, realizing that without the Crimson Dragon's sudden intervention, Jack would have surely lost.
