However, the most prominent player in the game, Giuseppe Marconi, known as Gus Marco, remained active. By day, he appeared to be a reputable taxi garage owner, but by night, he was deeply involved in the bootlegging business, operating a massive underground distillery where he transformed stolen industrial alcohol into illicit liquor.
