A retired gay firefighter stirs controversy by alleging that some of the firemen who perished in 9/11 were secretly gay, prompting Chief Reilly to seek the truth. Meanwhile, Tommy, struggling with the grief of losing his wife and children, agrees to help Jimmy by keeping an eye on his widow, leading to an unexpected revelation. Additionally, the rookie faces the unforeseen consequences of his newfound status as a hero following his first successful rescue during a fire.
