Booth and Brennan are called to a grisly scene where a human body has fused with the dashboard of a burned-out truck. As they delve deeper into the investigation, they find a gunshot wound on the victim, but neither the fire nor the bullet caused the fatality. Their search leads them to a local high school, where the victim's wife teaches. As they uncover a troubling student-teacher relationship and a pattern emerges in the lab, the team successfully identifies the murder weapon. Meanwhile, Sweets struggles to keep his feelings for Daisy in check while helping her prepare for a government psychological evaluation, and Hannah tries to connect with Booth's son, Parker.
