Ty travels to Minnesota to meet a family that has significantly impacted education with their innovative approaches. Their lives are set to change once Ty and the crew complete renovations on their home. This week’s featured hero is Susan DeVries, who battles Ventricular Tachycardia, a potentially fatal arrhythmia. Despite her health struggles, Susan passionately works as a music teacher, band director, and first-grade reading specialist. She also shares bus driving duties with her husband, Dirk, who lost an arm in a farming accident. When her school lacked funds for instruments, Susan creatively fashioned flutes and other musical items from recycled materials.
