Title: Shroud for a Nightingale (2) Plot: Following Fallon's tragic demise, Dalgliesh uncovers a book in her quarters and a note tucked away in Pearce's office regarding a patient of Courtney-Briggs named Martin Dettinger, whose recent passing in the hospital deeply affected her. His investigation leads him to a rose spray, which Chopra verifies was the poison responsible for Fallon's death. While exploring the nearby woods, Dalgliesh finds himself the target of a brutal assault.
