In October 1013, King Sweyn commands a fleet of Danish and Viking ships, aiming to seize London Bridge in England. Among the forces is Askeladd's army, contracted by the Danish troops. However, following Thorkell the Tall's treachery—a Viking famed for his immense strength—London Bridge has become virtually unassailable. Askeladd promises Thorfinn a chance for a duel if he can manage to defeat Thorkell.
