On March 24, 2016, the Sheriff's Office in DeRidder, Louisiana, receives a troubling call from the proprietor of Dee's Motel, who reports discovering a woman's lifeless body in room 6. Upon arriving at the motel, officers uncover a gruesome scene that suggests the woman suffered a violent attack. The victim is identified as Sonya Ortego, who had been staying at the motel with her fiancé for nearly two months. Detectives immediately begin interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. As the investigation unfolds, authorities grow increasingly concerned that a murderer might be roaming free in DeRidder.
