S01E01 Second Thunder

In the pilot episode of this ABC half-season spin-off from the 1983 hit film starring Roy Scheider, Warren Oates, and Malcolm McDowell, the Blue Thunder Unit faces a deadly threat: a rogue pilot systematically gunning down police helicopters across Los Angeles. The crazed avenger, calling himself "P.V.C.," targets Frank Chaney to settle an old score. He blames Chaney for shooting his aircraft out of the sky with a 12-gauge shotgun during a failed drug bust a year earlier. Now, P.V.C. vows to blast Chaney from the air while ensuring a drug shipment crosses the Mexican border. After cleverly evacuating the Astro-Division Building and continuing his aerial attacks, Chaney and his team must stop him.
