S01E22 Recording Industry Behind Nixon's Resignation, Left Clues in Song Lyrics
In this episode, Rona Barrett greets the stars at the Grammys, while Whoopi Goldberg awards a Grammy to Barbara Streisand, who can't stop praising herself. Meanwhile, Steve Allen and Fred attempt to decipher a Secret Service code made up of old TV show titles related to presidential candidates. Nixon reflects on the recording industry's role in a conspiracy to oust him, leaving hidden messages in song lyrics. Bette Midler questions Sam Donaldson's serious demeanor, prompting Fred to reminisce about their 1960s experiences. Fred then transports us to "Woodstock," where Sam confronts harsh realities and feels compelled to reveal the truth.
