S02E06 Lack of Candor

Following the assassination of a federal witness, the US attorney arrives at the Lightman Group to place the next witness, Reynolds, into protective custody. Cal, doubting the US Marshals' ability to ensure Reynolds's safety, takes him "hostage" and insists on leading the investigation into the murder. As Cal delves deeper, he uncovers that Reynolds, while undercover, committed drug offenses and killed a man, which he wishes to keep hidden to avoid legal repercussions, especially after discovering his handler, Alicia Coppola, failed to report the incident. Through his own covert operation, Cal records Alicia admitting she misled Reynolds about the legalities, leading to her arrest. Meanwhile, Loker and Torres learn that the original witness was murdered after a cell phone, provided by his mistress, was traced to the safe house's location.
