S11E50 Shield with a Twist!
The battle at Hearthome Gym kicks off between Ash and the Gym Leader, Fantina. Ash selects Buizel to face Gengar, Chimchar to take on Mismagius, and Pikachu to challenge Driftblim. Employing his counter-shield tactic, Buizel manages to defeat Gengar, and Chimchar triumphs over Mismagius. However, Pikachu falls to Driftblim after Fantina counters with her own strategy, and Buizel also gets knocked out by Driftblim. Ultimately, Chimchar secures victory against Driftblim, earning Ash the Relic Badge. Meanwhile, Barry, who previously lost to Fantina, declares Ash as a rival, hoping to see him face the Canalave Gym Leader. In a separate event, Jessie, under her alias Jessilina, wins her second ribbon in the Majolica Town Contest with her Yanmega!
