Markowitz and Kuzak collaborate to assist a fisherman whose boat is seized by the IRS due to a tax issue. Meanwhile, Sifuentes persuades Feldman to withdraw criminal assault charges against Brackman, though Kerris struggles with the arrangement. After Kuzak confronts her about her substance abuse almost costing her life, Van Owen decides to take a leave to confront her trauma. Becker falls prey to a young model's manipulation, while McKenzie faces illness that requires surgery he is reluctant to discuss. Shacter takes Melman to Hawaii, and Kelsey regrets encouraging Markowitz to join her on a challenging backpacking trip that turns out to be a nightmare.
