S25E02 Roadblocks to Turning a Former Chicken Coop into a Cottage - The Concord Cottage
Before any work can commence, permits are essential, so Kevin takes Janet to meet with John Minty, the Concord building commissioner, to discuss the challenges she may encounter while converting an accessory building into a permanent residence. Meanwhile, Kevin visits local architect Holly Cratsley to tour her newly designed home that mimics an antique style, complete with a timber frame barn. In a separate effort, Norm and preservation architect Leonard Baum utilize flashlights, ladders, and archival images to piece together the project's historical background, discovering that the structure originally served as a one-story chicken coop, predating current zoning laws—crucial information for advancing their plans.
