The Tunnel
S30E17 New York City; A This Old House Brownstone in Brooklyn
In a historic first, host Kevin O'Connor and master carpenter Norm Abram take This Old House to Brooklyn, New York, to revitalize a dilapidated brownstone dating back to 1904. Homeowners Karen Shen and Kevin Costello aim to transform the old rooming house into a three-family residence while honoring its original architectural charm. Norm connects with experienced contractor Michael R. Streaman, who is renovating a nearby brownstone, to gain insights into modernizing these classic structures. Meanwhile, Streaman begins demolition at the project site, stripping paint from the back wall in preparation for brick re-pointing and the installation of energy-efficient windows.
