Recognizing Kenshin's past as the formidable Hitokiri Battosai, Jine seizes Kaoru as a hostage to provoke Kenshin's fury. A brutal showdown ensues between the two. Jine, confident that Kenshin hasn’t fully regained his past prowess, uses the Nikaido Heiho technique "Shin no Ippo" on Kaoru, leaving her unable to breathe. With only two minutes left before she succumbs to asphyxiation, Kenshin’s rage escalates to its highest point.
