Kelsey and Markowitz are heartbroken after Harris decides against adoption. Meanwhile, Melman opts to initiate divorce proceedings. Rollins brings on an appealing new summer intern, while Perkins shifts her legal focus to representing drug dealers, drawn by the promise of a lucrative income. Kuzak and Van Owen find themselves in a heated debate about their relationship. The partners quickly regret their harsh critiques of Brackman's management style, leading him to resign as managing partner. They breathe a sigh of relief when he ultimately agrees to come back to the position.
