The verdict in the Torrey case weighs heavily on Van Owen, igniting her guilt and pushing her to negotiate a deal that frees Torrey from death row while protecting others involved. However, the desire for revenge among some police officers leads to Torrey's tragic murder shortly after his release. Meanwhile, Kelsey and Markowitz experience a rollercoaster of emotions with an expectant mother. Additionally, Meyer entices Becker with the prospect of an eight-figure income, prompting a partnership to promote Becker's expertise in marital law. Perkins and Ringstrom finally give in to their growing attraction.
