Matlock takes on the case of a well-known actor who finds himself charged with the murder of the director of the sex-therapy clinic he was visiting, allegedly for leaking his identity to the media. Complicating matters for Matlock is Cassie Phillips, a law student who took his casual suggestion of seeking her assistance much to heart, and is now eager to prove herself as his assistant. Her enthusiasm becomes a bit of a distraction as they navigate the complexities of the case together.
