Despite losing a crucial witness, Matlock remains committed to defending Nicholas Baron. Daniel insists to Matlock that his father struggles with stress because of his heart issues, yet Nicholas persistently urges Matlock to prove his innocence. As Matlock looks into a suspect who may be more connected to Baron than he realizes, Charlene sabotages her potential romance with Paul by failing to distinguish between the man and the myth surrounding him.
