S34E10 Cambridge 2012: Swedish Design Details

2012-12-06

Norm arrives to admire the newly finished exterior, where the vibrant combination of yellow, white, and black paired with copper gives off a distinctly Swedish vibe. Inside, the Scandinavian-inspired design features a palette of white on white, accented by natural wood elements. Tom demonstrates to Kevin his installation of Southern yellow pine boards on the ceilings by the bay windows, adding a touch of architectural flair. On the third floor, bright blue mosaic tiles inject color into the space, while tile contractor Mark Ferrante showcases how he’s creating a decorative strip on the vanity wall with the same tiles. On the roof deck, Tom employs cellular PVC porch boards and a custom railing system to finalize the area. In the kitchen, Norm reveals the prefinished maple flooring, explaining his technique of starting from the center to ensure alignment with potentially uneven exterior walls.
