The Tunnel
S34E11 Cambridge 2012: Window Seat, Stairs, Knee Walls
In the side yard, Roger works on adding two new granite steps leading up to the old deck. Meanwhile, Tom demonstrates to Kevin his method for fitting a new window seat into an existing bay window. Norm completes the installation of maple stair treads and crafts a unique newel cap from southern yellow pine. Inside the master bedroom, Tom reveals how he cleverly integrated access doors into the wainscoting for the knee walls. Lastly, painting contractor Mauro Henrique applies a whitewash stain with a lacquer finish to achieve a Swedish aesthetic on the southern yellow pine ceilings.
